Welcome Busan ("this site") is a static informational website. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and content delivery providers automatically log standard technical information for every visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and pages viewed. This is standard web server log data used for security and performance, and is not linked to any name or account, since this site has no user accounts or login system.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand overall traffic patterns, such as which pages are read and how visitors arrive at the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information in an aggregated, non-identifying way, with IP addresses anonymized. It only loads after you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit — if you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded on your device.

Advertising

This site has applied to show advertising through Google AdSense. No ads are running yet. The AdSense script loads on articles, guides and the Cheap Eats Map as part of that application; it does not load on this page, the About, Contact or Disclaimer pages, or on error pages, since those carry no advertising. Before you make a choice in the cookie banner, this site tells Google's Consent Mode to treat ad storage and ad personalization as declined by default; accepting the banner updates that signal to allow them, and declining keeps them off. This uses Google's own consent-signalling tools rather than a certified consent-management platform. Once ads are running, Google and its partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can find general information about how Google uses data at Google's Partner Sites policy.

Maps and other third-party services

Guides that include a map, and the Cheap Eats Map itself, load map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Your IP address and the part of the map you are looking at reach the OpenStreetMap Foundation's servers as part of that request. Pages without a map make no such request.

The "Submit a place" button on the Cheap Eats Map opens a Google Form. Anything you type into that form is sent to and stored by Google, not by this site.

Your location on the map

The Cheap Eats Map has a "Find me" button. Nothing asks for your position until you press it, your browser asks your permission first, and the coordinates are only used to draw a dot on the map in front of you. They are not sent to this site, stored, or shared with anyone.

Offline storage on your device

This site registers a service worker — a small script your browser keeps — so that guides you have already opened still work when you lose signal. Copies of the pages, images and stylesheets you have viewed are stored inside your own browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.

What we don't do

This site does not have user accounts, does not sell personal data, and does not knowingly collect information from children. We don't ask for or store payment information, passwords, or personally identifiable information through this site.
